Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Aishwarya Bachchan (Birthname: Aishwarya Rai; Tulu,born on November 1, 1973 is an internationally known Indian actress. Before starting her career as an actress, she worked as a model, and gained fame after winning the Miss World contest in 1994.

Often touted as the most beautiful woman in the world, Rai made her movie debut in Mani Ratnam's Tamil film, Iruvar (1997). She had her first critical and commercial success in the Hindi movie, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), which was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She successfully performed again in Bhansali's Devdas (2002). All Time Favorite: ANGELA PEREZ BARRAQUIO-GREY

Angela Perez Baraquio was an elementary Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director in Honolulu, Hawaii when she was crowned Miss Hawaii 2000. That same year, Angela, the eighth-born of ten children, and daughter of Filipino immigrants, experienced a piece of the American Dream when she went on to win the title of Miss America 2001. Angela was the first teacher to win, and continues to be the first and only Asian Miss America in history.

During her year of service, she traveled over 20,000 miles a month on a national speaking tour entitled, “Character in the Classroom: Teaching Values, Valuing Teachers.” After living in Hawaii her whole life, Angela relocated with her family to Anaheim, California in March 2006.

Angela is the Founder of the Angela Perez Baraquio Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes character education and provides scholarships and grants to students and teachers. The foundation has been in existence since October 2001.

In addition to her foundation, Angela is also featured as a Host on the Hawaii-based entertainment talk show, “Living Local with the Baraquios,” with three of her six sisters. Angela currently continues to speak at various events nationwide as a keynote speaker, judge, panelist or emcee.

Angela was chosen to be one of three distinguished women (alongside fellow Miss America sister Phyllis George) to be on the Expert Panel of a show called, “Pageant School: Becoming Miss America”, where she helped choose a winner for a reality show leading up to the 2007 Miss America Pageant. The show aired several times on CMT, VH1, MTV, and Logo in January 2007.

In May 2003, Angela and her husband were invited to a State Dinner at the White House, honoring Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. In June 2006, President George W. Bush made Angela a Presidential Appointee, and now Angela is one of twenty five high profiled members to be chosen to serve on the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. Angela is proud to represent President Bush as she helps recognize and reward volunteers across America for their community service through the Presidential Volunteer Service Awards.

From 2002-2005 Angela was the official spokesperson for First Hawaiian Bank, a Hawaii-based community-oriented financial institution, which also has branches in Guam and Saipan. Angela filmed and recorded statewide TV and radio commercials for the bank, and visited First Hawaiian Bank branches across the state of Hawaii, during her tenure as spokeswoman. She and her husband have also been featured as TV hosts on the in-room video at the Four Seasons Hualalai Resort in Kona, Hawaii.

Angela continues her volunteer work with other non-profit organizations, and has appeared in television campaigns for the Hawaii Foodbank and Catholic Charities. She has also hosted several pro-life segments on the TV show, “Facing Life Head On”, which was filmed in June 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Angela is the recipient of the "2003 Women Helping Women Award" from the Soroptomist International Club and was named the 1st "Hawaii's Filipina Young Woman of the Year 2004" Award by the Filipino Chamber of Commerce. Her inspirational story, "Give It a Try", is published in the book, Chicken Soup from the Soul of Hawaii. Angela is also featured in a book, “Strength of Grace” by Kate Kitchen, which spotlights former Miss Americas. She is currently working with a literary agency in New York to complete her first non-fiction book.

In June 2007, Angela celebrated her fifth wedding anniversary with high school sweetheart and musician, Tinifuloa Grey. The couple is blessed to have two sons: Isaiah and Micah.

In Hawaii, Angela and Tinifuloa volunteered as choir directors for two church groups at St. Augustine Church in Waikiki. Now that they live in Anaheim, California, the couple has decided to start a Polynesian entertainment company to help spread the Aloha Spirit and bring a taste of the islands to the rest of the country.

Shandi Ren Finnessey (born June 9, 1978 in Florissant, Missouri, U.S.) is an American beauty queen, model and television hostess. She is best known for winning the Miss USA title,[1] as Miss Missouri USA. She had previously held the title of Miss Missouri 2002 and competed in Miss America where she won a preliminary award.

In 2002, Finnessey authored a children’s book, The Furrtails, which helps children appreciate individuality and understand their peers who have disabilities. She became Chuck Woolery's co-host on the game show Lingo in August 2005 at the start of the show's fourth season. Lingo airs regularly on GSN. In April 2006, she began appearing on the interactive series PlayMania, another GSN original. On February 23, 2007, PlayMania broke into two shows, 100 Winners and quiznation; Finnessey became the co-host of quiznation, a revised but similar version of the original PlayMania. She remained a co-host until October 21, 2007, several days before the show's finale. Finnessey was also a commentator on the 2006 Miss Universe Pageant and a sideline reporter for the CBS tournament blackjack series Ultimate Blackjack Tour.

Finnessey graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in 1996 and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Lindenwood University in 1999. She has credits toward a masters degree in counselling from the same university.

Working with a Philippine Designing Legend

Last summer, while working on the Miss US-Philippines Pageant, we had the priviledge and honor to work with one of the Philippine's top designers Tito Alfonso 'Boy' Guino-o.

We just finished and crowned the new Miss US-Philippines, and was eating my first meal of the day when I was approached by Monet Lu to direct a couple fashion shows the following day. I immediately agreed to do the shows not knowing it was Tito Alfonso's designs. When I saw the gowns to be worn, I got excited and knew immediately that we made the right decision. When we found out who it was, I was thrilled and ecstatic because to me, he is one of the Philippine's top cultural designers.

ALFONSO "Boy" GUINO-O was born and raised in Davao City, Philippines by a prominent family. He is a member of the Philippine Bayanihan Dance Group. This group traveled around the globe representing Philippine's culture and heritage. Boy's passion to represent his heritage prompted a creative genius in designing Philippine Couture line. He has established his private Alfonso Boy Guino-o collection back in the1950's. His retail and private collection of formal gowns, evening, and casual wear are top of the line and well renowned in Asia, the United States, and Europe. He is actively on tour holds fashion venues to showcase his collection in the U.S. and Asia Pacific. Boy has been raised in a humble way by his parents. This upbringing gave him the sincerity and special aura which has captivated the hearts of his clientele.His success is further complemented by his personalized touch and the love that goes with each of his creations.

Try to be POSITIVE!

In today's hustle and bustle of daily living, we often sometimes forget to eat...breath and think positively about us and the people around us...admit it! We do this not because we are mean, we do it because we are always 'catching up' and trying to rush and get through what needs to be done and we tend to forget others around us. When I read this, I thought it would be nice to share it with everyone. It's a web article that teaches 20 ways to defeat negative thoughts. Not all tips are suitable for all situations, so choose the ones that work for you. The change is not going to happen immediately so take your time we will get there eventually...

1. Realize that you only hurt yourself with negative thoughts. Don’t let them trick you.

2. Decide that you will live your day with happiness and not let negative thoughts steal it.

3. Look at yourself in the mirror and say, “I’m a positive person. I won’t let negative thoughts control me. I’m a winner in life.”

4. Read positive quotes.

5. Never say negative words in your conversation.

6. Change the tone of your thoughts from negative to positive. For example, instead of thinking “This problem is too difficult” think “This problem is cool and challenging”.

7. If you think negatively about someone, remember positive things about that person. Shift your attention to the positive side.

8. Smile. It’s more difficult to think negatively when you are smiling.

9. Walk and act confidently. Good body language helps you have good thoughts.

10. Pray or meditate. Spiritual peace and calmness is among the most effective ways to overcome negative thoughts.

11. Gather with positive people. Be careful not to choose the wrong people or the situation will only get worse.

12. Take a nap so that you will wake up with a fresh mind.

13. Read an inspiring book. Spiritual books often do well.

14. Go out and appreciate the beauty of the world around you.

15. Sing a cheerful song.

16. Make yourself comfortable with failure. Failure is the stepping stone to success, so don’t be afraid to fail.

17. Have realistic expectation. Accept the fact that people could make mistakes since nobody is perfect.

18. If you think negatively about a situation, decide that you won’t give up even if the worst happens. Prove yourself to be a tough opponent. You are a winner.

19. Accept yourself and be comfortable in who you are. You can’t be perfect but neither can anyone else.

20. Help someone. Shift the focus away from yourself and do good to others.

Ways to Live and Not Merely Exist

Love. Perhaps the most important. Fall in love, if you aren't already. If you have, fall in love with your partner all over again. Abandon caution and let your heart be broken. Or love family members, friends, anyone -- it doesn't have to be romantic love. Love all of humanity, one person at a time.

Get outside. Don't let yourself be shut indoors. Go out when it's raining. Walk on the beach. Hike through the woods. Swim in a freezing lake. Bask in the sun. Play sports, or walk barefoot through grass. Pay close attention to nature.

Savor food. Don't just eat your food, but really enjoy it. Feel the texture, the bursts of flavors. Savor every bite. If you limit your intake of sweets, it will make the small treats you give yourself (berries or dark chocolate are my favorites) even more enjoyable. And when you do have them, really, really savor them. Slowly.

Create a morning ritual. Wake early and greet the day. Watch the sun rise. Out loud, tell yourself that you will not waste this day, which is a gift. You will be compassionate to your fellow human beings, and live every moment to its fullest. Stretch or meditate or exercise as part of your ritual. Enjoy some coffee.

Take chances. We often live our lives too cautiously, worried about what might go wrong. Be bold, risk it all. Quit your job and go to business for yourself (plan it out first!), or go up to that girl you've liked for a long time and ask her out. What do you have to lose?

Global Queen Beauty Management sends off their last group of winter beauties to the tropical islands of the Philippines to support and compete for the very first Miss Doll Globe crown! Headed by 'mabuhay' beauty and Philippines actress and jewelry model AR Duque, our dolls are ready and excited to compete in the land known to the world as the 'Pearl of the Orient'.

Wearing the official Miss Doll Globe crown during their send off, the crown represents the shining rays of the Philippine flag. GQBM wishest all the participating doll-egates the best of luck especially to GQBM's Global Queens!

Madonna Hits a Milestone

Madonna was announced as a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee on Thursday along with John Mellencamp, The Ventures, Leonard Cohen and The Dave Clark Five.

A panel of 600 industry figures selected the five acts to be inducted at the annual ceremony, to be held March 10 in New York. To be eligible, artists must have issued a first single or album at least 25 years before nomination.

Madonna Louise Ciccone signed with Sire Records in 1982 and became one of MTV's first stars two years later with "Like A Virgin." She has constantly altered her image ever since, showing staying power that few '80s stars could muster.

Meet the Man Behind the Beautiful Doll Creations: RANDALL CRAIG of RTW

Randall Craig, the creative talent behind Randall Craig Couture and RTW clothing for fashion dolls, grew up in the high desert of New Mexico but his designs reflect the cosmopolitan styles of the New York runways. He demonstrated a flair for fashion at an early age, creating hand-sewn clothing for fashion dolls. Randall received his first sewing machine at age 5 and expanded his repertoire to include full-scale clothing during his teen years. He went on to attend International Fine Arts College in Miami (now known as Miami International University of Art and Design), earning an associates of arts degree in 2002.

His college years included internships with Petit Pois (http://www.veggiespetitpois.com) and Perry Ellis (http://www.supreme.com). Randall has worked at fashion shows for many top names, including Saks Fifth Ave, Nautica, Badgley Mishka, Vogue, St. John, Neimen Marcus, and Sonia Rykiel. While at IFAC, he also worked as a teacher's assistant in pattern making and construction courses and served as a student member of Fashion Group International. Randall received an award from Tail Sportswear's Team T-shirt Design Contest in 2001.

His design career has flourished since graduation with the launch of a variety of his own clothing lines. In September 2002, he debuted Choic, a collection of trendy men's tops. His custom-made fashion doll creations, under the name Randall Craig Couture, made a splash the following spring. Randall's most ambitious collection to date, Randall Craig RTW (Ready-to-Wear) for 11-to-12-inch fashion dolls, was met with enthusiastic response when it hit the market in early 2004 and sold out immediately.

As president of Randall Craig Inc., he handles all design and marketing duties for his signature RTW line for fashion dolls. The RTW collection is now carried by retailers across the United States and in Canada, Singapore, and Australia, and has graced the pages of Fashion Doll Quarterly, Haute Doll, Contemporary Doll Collector, Doll Reader, and Barbie Bazaar.

Randall enjoys doing all the styling and photography for the entire line of clothing and accessories. He also holds the position of Fashion Editor for Fashion Doll Quarterly magazine and is an editorial contributer to both Haute Doll and Barbie Bazaar magazines.

Universal Beauty Hosts Miss Tourism International

Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico will host Miss Doll Tourism Pageant 2008! This year event is an exclusive one. Many girls from around the world already compete in a preliminary photo competition. Only 14 of them were accepted base on their scores and earned a ticke to the host city for Miss Doll Tourism 2008.

Technically, 3 out of the 4 Global Queen Beauty Management entries made the cut but with a sudden withdrawal of Bolivia, GQBM's non-semi-finalist Miss Philippines, soon found herself traveling to Puerto Rico with the rest of her GQBM Tourism team mates.

This year's host will be recently crowned Miss Doll Universe (Brazilian Version) 2007Monica Bazal from Curacao. Monica is also an exclusive doll model for F&G Photography.

Global Queen Beauty Management (GQBM) goes to Thailand to compete this summer for the 2nd annual Miss Beauty Doll Pageant (MBD) headed by Thai doll beauty expert Vic. MBD Organization approved and granted GQBM's request, to send the following doll-egates to their event: Miss BD Aruba, Miss BD Czech Republic and Miss BD Tanzania. With a short turn-around time, GQBM made a quick decision to send former Unibarse beauties to step up and take on the challenge.

GQBM beauties left Los Angeles yesterday Bangkok bound to try their luck and compete in one of the world finest and most competitive pageant in the doll pageantry system. Best of luck to GQBM's Miss Beauty Doll-egates!

Russian Diva Denied a Visa for Global Competition

Global Queen Beauty Management's Russian representative to Miss Doll Globe International in the Philippines was denied a visa preventing her from competing! GQBM immediately replaced and elected a new representative! Roxana Feradova is now set to take Parishma's spot in the GQBM Global Team scheduled to depart from Los Angeles to Manila this Friday!

Miss Russia-Globe was denied a visa to fly to Manila.

Roxana Feradova takes over and is scheduled to fly to Asia for Miss Doll Globe produced by 'Mabuhay' Beauty A.R. Duque.
